About the Founder

A story of resilience, learning, and service-led leadership.

Standby Staffing Solutions is rooted in lived perspective and professional practice — built to offer dependable support that protects continuity while honoring people, planning, and trust.

Survival Became the Starting Point

Curtis W. Palmer’s journey began in Jamaica and continued in Toronto, where early years were shaped by loss, instability, and environments that often felt unsafe.

Those experiences developed a lasting understanding of what people need when life is uncertain: steady support, safe relationships, and a real sense of hope.

From Lived Experience to Social Work

As a young father and student, Curtis balanced family responsibilities while advancing his education with determination and focus.

He completed his Bachelor of Social Work at Toronto Metropolitan University, building on earlier studies in community justice and applied behaviour analysis.

A Career Built on Service

Over more than 24 years in social services and education, Curtis has supported children, youth, adults, people with disabilities, and people navigating crisis.

His work across schools, community programs, and human services reflects a consistent commitment: practical care that protects dignity and helps teams respond with confidence.

Why I Founded RPS

His professional path has always centered on turning lived experience into meaningful action. That vision led to the development of Resilience Professional Services, Standby Staffing Solutions, and SteadyPath.

Each initiative is designed to help individuals and organizations access person-centered support before pressure escalates into disruption.

Building Steady Paths for Others

Today, Curtis continues to build systems that promote safety, continuity, and opportunity, guided by the people he has served and the lessons he has carried forward.

The mission remains simple: provide respectful, dependable support that strengthens continuity and keeps hope within reach.
